I am under 18 years of age. Can I still participate in the ISM Photography Competition?
The Competition is open to all persons 18 years of age or older who are in the Ismaili community (this includes non-Ismaili spouses, partners and children) with the exception of all employees of ISM Global Creations Inc.
If you're under 18 and would like to submit an Image, a parent or guardian can do so on your behalf. Have your parent or guardian submit your Image, noting in the Entry Form their relationship to you as well as your name and age.
I am not a resident of Canada. Can I still participate in the ISM Photography Competition?
Yes. You are welcome to participate as long as you have read and accepted the ISM Photography Competition's Rules.
How many Images may I submit?
You may submit a maximum of ten Images. Any Images in excess of the first ten will be disqualified.

How do I submit my Image?
There are two options for entering The Competition:
Option 1. Upload your Images Online (high-speed internet connection required)
Option 2. Send your Entry Form, Digital Images and Release Forms by PostGo to the How to Enter section for details. Before you submit your Images please read the Competition Rules.
Do photos have to be taken with a digital camera?
No. Any digital scan will do, as long as the end result is a JPG or JPEG file and meet the following requirements:
- JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) format
- Colour or Black & White (RGB)
- Image file name format: Imagetitle_ImageNumber.jpg (i.e. KenyaSafari_Image1.jpg). File names that contain brackets () or any special characters will not be accepted.
- Maximum Image file size: 5 megabytes
- 300 dpi resolution or at the highest resolution and quality provided by your camera
- Minimum size: 5" x 7" (1500 x 2100 Pixels); Maximum size: 9" x 12" (2700 x 3600 Pixels)
- Manipulated Images will be excluded from The Competition however minor burning, dodging and/or colour correction is acceptable.
When I submit an Image to the ISM Photography Competition, do I retain the copyright to the Image?
You will always own the Image however you will grant ISM Global Creations Inc. a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to display, distribute, publish, reproduce and create derivatives of the Image, in whole or in part, without further review or participation from you, in any medium now existing or subsequently developed, in editorial, commercial, promotional and trade uses in connection with ISM Global Creations Inc.

What are individual and group release forms?
If any person(s) in your photograph is recognizable, you are responsible for ensuring that you have been given permission by the model(s) by having them sign one of the applicable release forms below. If the subject(s) is unrecognizable you do not need to submit an Individual or Group release form.

Do Images of children require an individual or group release form?
Yes. If the child or children are recognizable you must submit an individual or group release form (see answer above). If the child in the Image is under 18 years of age the personal release form must be signed by the child's legal guardian.
What is an artist release form?
If your Image contains original works of art, you are responsible for ensuring that you have been given permission by the artist or third party copyright holder of any art that appears in the Image. An artist release form is a binding contract between the photographer and artist or copyright holder(s) of any art in the Image.

If your Image is taken on or within private property, are responsible for ensuring that you have been given permission by the owner(s)of the property. A location release form is a binding contract between the photographer and the building owner.

If you registered online and did not receive your activation e-mail, please check your "junk mail" box to see if that is where the e-mail landed. Some ISPs (internet service providers) install e-mail filters that block or filter e-mails sent from unknown addresses.
